Ambassador Latreche Presented His Credentials to the President of the Conference on Disarmament.

Ambassador Latreche presented his credentials to the President of the Conference on Disarmament, H.E. Ambassador Tormod Cappelen Endresen, and delivered his first statement before the Conference. Reaffirming Algeria’s unwavering commitment to the Conference and its vital mandate of advancing general and complete disarmament under effective international control, he outlined Algeria’s vision for overcoming the body’s longstanding challenges: restoring political will, revitalizing multilateralism, upholding diplomacy and negotiation, and ensuring that consensus serves as a tool for confidence building and compromise, not paralysis. Drawing on Algeria’s longstanding commitment to multilateral disarmament and its historical contribution to the Conference, Ambassador Latreche stressed that, in times of profound global crises, the Conference’s credibility will ultimately depend on its ability to negotiate, build consensus, and deliver tangible results.
